5, 2012 – Telemundo announced today that renowned Mexican actress Rebecca
Jones signed an exclusive contract with the U.S. Hispanic network and joined the
cast of its new original production “Pasión Prohibida.” A television, film and
theater actress and producer, Jones did her crossover to the general
market with NBC’s daytime series “Passions.” Viewers can follow “Pasión

With over three
decades of an acting career, Jones is one of the most prominent celebrities in
Mexico and the United States. In 2003, she starred in Telemundo’s telenovela "El
Alma Herida" alongside Itatí Cantoral and Gabriel Porras.
Jones’ acting
career includes important Mexican telenovela productions and theater plays like
the critically acclaimed "Retrato de una Mujer Desempleada."
Jones hasbeen
honored with two TV y Novelas awards, the prestigious ‘Revelación” award from
Mexico’s Association of Theater Critics and Reporters (Unión de Críticos y
Cronistas Teatrales de México) for "El Coleccionista" and the Association of
Theatrical Journalists (Asociación de Periodistas Teatrales ) for "Retrato de la
Artista Desempleada" and "El Sexo Opuesto." Born in Mexico of an American father
and Mexican mother, she lived in California during her youth, where she studied
dramatic arts.
